I try to edit the templates “14-Day Automated Cold-Email Outreach Campaign” to fit my usecase.
In the ‘Send Email’ step when config the section “Email subject and content”, I try to use / to get the Subject and Content that already write in the database in 2 column “Title” and “Content”.
But it can’t get the value in those 2 column, it can send email but blank. Is there anything I’m missing or it can’t do it like this? Others varibles like name, email… it can get perfectly, so is there any limit it can’t GET, like maximum character…
Yes, you can absolutely use fields from your database (like “Title” and “Content”) in the email subject and body — we do that too.
Whether the values show up correctly depends on your trigger setup. For example, if you’re using “Record Created” like in the 14-day email template, make sure you’re referencing the variables from the correct step. Here’s an example of the right variable path:
We know variable setup can be confusing — we’re updating the docs soon to make this easier to follow. Let us know if you’d like help checking your setup!
Thank you for your reply, I change the Trigger from “Record Created” to “Record Match”. So that when I update “Single Select” into Done, it’ll trigger the automation. It does trigger the automation when “Run Now” to test.
The triggers can get the database, but when in the Send Email action, it can’t GET the data, don’t know why.
@Thai_Vo Thanks for the update — if you’ve switched the trigger to “Record Match”, the variable path may have changed, which could be why the email content isn’t showing up.
Please go ahead and send a screenshot of your Send Email action setup to support@bika.ai — that’ll help us check the variable mapping and guide you quickly. Appreciate your patience!
Hi @Thai_Vo , thanks again for your email — I’ve just replied, feel free to check it out!
Your variable path setup looks correct — it was just a display issue, and we’ve already fixed it in our latest update. You can see the details here: Bika.ai v1.0.8 Release Notes | Bika.ai
Give it another try when you can, and let us know if anything else comes up
